Review Response #2: I LOL At Flames
"you butchered this story utterly, spare us some additional torture and euthanize yourself." - Zane, Company Chapter 9
Haha, my first real flame in a long, long time! XD
You know, unlike some fic authors, I actually enjoy getting flames. When I got my very first one I practically celebrated. (I think it was for In Dreams, but I could be wrong. It was forever ago.) The way I look at it is that you're not a real author until someone out there hates your work. There are billions of people on the planet, all with their own opinion, and some of them are bound to be negative. Receiving a flame/negative review is kind of a right of passage, in a way.
I can say that I've never been told to off myself before, though. Heh. Wishing death on someone over a fanfic is pretty ridiculous, isn't it?
I will admit that Company isn't my best work. At all. Not even close. But it became somewhat infamous when I was writing it, as did the currently-unfinished sequel, Digital. (Digital is a much, much better fic than Company is; I'm hoping to get it finished. Eventually.No, really! :P lol.)
Still, telling someone to kill themselves is a bit much. If you don't like a fic/story/book/whatever then just don't read it anymore. Simple enough, yeah? In this case, Zane-san read nine whole chapters before leaving their flame. And that, to me, is just laughable. I mean really. You'd think they'd have quit a lot sooner than that, considering the review... XD;;
